Mentor for Advice Opportunity

Our failed educational system has led many people to the wrong career, resulting in frustration and confusion. At Unstatus Your Quo®, we help people discover their best career fit and thrive by using the latest, scientifically proven career assessments with God-centered coaching. As a mentor, you will help a Certified Career Fit client who has aptitudes, personality, key role on a team, and interests that fit with your career. With your expertise as a guide, you will help the client confirm (or not) the selected career and the target job on the right career path leading to the Certified Career Fit. The goal is not for you to hire the client or for you to get them a job, but to serve as a guide.

Please read the information below to help you decide whether to become a mentor or not and complete the form below.

General Information

  1. Unstatus Your Quo® career plans use the most current and sophisticated career assessment science available to assess clients.
  2. After considering a client’s aptitudes, personality, team role, and interests, Unstatus Your Quo® certifies that the client can operate now or in the future within the career for which we have certified him/her.
  3. Many clients have not developed fully their aptitudes and realize they may need to target an entry level position on the career path to their ultimate career or job.
  4. Clients need and want to get the education, certification, training, or experience needed to fulfill a position in the career for which God has designed them.
  5. Mentors in the industry or in a related industry are to share pertinent information and wisdom around what it is like to work in the industry.
  6. This session is for advice, not a job interview. Some clients still may not have solidified their decision to go in this career direction, and your advice may cause them to be more enthusiastic or realize that it may not be best fit for them.
  7. Most Mentors spend an hour meeting with clients.

How to Help

  1. Give clients an overview of the industry and the career for which they are striving (Typical culture, pros and cons, etc.). The client should come prepared with questions from their research into the industry and companies.
  2. While clients may have done some research, they need major guidance in what education, certification, training, or experience is needed for their ultimate career destination? Also, given where they are on the education, certification, training, or experience, what position along the career path should be their starting point? Receptionist? Clerk? Junior Manager? They are willing to earn their way up the corporate ladder.
  3. Provide clients with encouragement and feedback.
  4. Have follow-up and even accountability conversations based on your level of desired involvement.
  5. Mentor clients in faith and other parts of their life based on your level of desired involvement.
  6. Refer clients to other Mentors for Advice (still not a job interview) if you believe it will help their progression.

Session Preparation

  1. You will receive for review the candidate’s Career Fit Certification before your session.
  2. Many clients have not had the same opportunities as you. However, they have learned how God has made them, and now they have the beginnings of a vision of what could be to help them leave what has been.
  3. They are very grateful for the opportunity with you and might have some fear meeting a person such as you and in your position.
  4. You may see growth in many areas of the client’s life right before your eyes as you encourage them of what could be in their lives.
  5. Sessions may be via Zoom or in person.
  6. You will receive client name and email information to setup the meeting. Unstatus Your Quo® is also available to help schedule the meeting, if needed.
